The Leader of Opposition in Gujarat, Paresh Dhanani, on Thursday lashed out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi for insinuating that things might have been different had Sardar Patel been the first Prime Minister of India. "In a way, the PM Modi has humiliated the women in the Nation", said Renuka Chowdhury, addressing the media representatives outside the Parliament. "February 18 election is not being contested by the BJP but by the eight lakh unemployed youth and government employees who have been deprived of 7th pay commission", added the prime minister.

A public rally has been organised at Rangamati Madrassa school ground in Sipahijala, Mr Bhattacharya said.

Modi said, "Tripura remained backward for a long time and there has been no development in the state".
