Instagram now lets you follow and see hashtags on your timeline

"When you find a hashtag that you like, open the hashtag name and click on the "Follow" button".

This new feature is already rolling out for the Android app and users can download it from the link. The company has now made it easier for users to see posts from around the world which are using the same hashtag.

You will see relevant hashtags displayed in the search results along with related accounts. In doing so, the top posts under that hashtag will be featured in your Instagram feed. Instagram also allows users see the hashtags that their friends follow, in order to help them discover new topics. Followed hashtags will also show up in your profile, if it's public, and other people's as well. Once the user started following the hashtag, then they will start seeing posts related to that hashtag in their feed and the most recent stories in their stories bar.

As it is with following a friend, the hashtag is included in the user's "Following" list and can subsequently be unfollowed at any time. However, if your profile is set to private, the hashtags will only be visible to the people who follow you.

Following Twitter's footsteps of searching hashtags and staying connected with hobbies, passions and communities, Instagram on Wednesday launched a similar feature for its users.

Instagram mentioned about the new feature in a blog post which read, " Every day, millions of people share photos and videos and tag them with relevant hashtags.
