Wentz may have injured his left knee on a dive into the end zone late in the third quarter, when he was sandwiched by a pair of Rams defenders, but Pederson said Monday that his quarterback could've suffered the injury before that play.

Wentz, who threw four touchdown passes before exiting the game in the third quarter, had emerged as the NFL's leading MVP candidate. Even though the team just clinched the NFC East for the first time since 2013, it has still been a grim day in Philadelphia. "And, you know if there's ever an opportunity for me as a head football coach to rally the troops, you know now might be the time".

Wentz continued for another four plays after getting hurt, finding Alshon Jeffery for a two-yard touchdown on fourth-and-goal before leaving the field.

While Kap's return to the league is unlikely, he's a unique fit for the Eagles needs in that he is a mobile quarterback that has experience in big games.

It was Wentz's 33rd TD pass, setting the team's single-season record. Kelly traded Foles to St. Louis for Sam Bradford after the 2014 season.

Ole Miss QB Shea Patterson says he's transferring to MI
Head coach Hugh Freeze made a decision to pull Patterson's redshirt and start him for the final three games of the season. He joins a MI quarterback room that includes Harbaugh recruits Brandon Peters and Dylan McCaffrey .

Pederson insisted the offence won't change with Foles. It's been 17 years since Baltimore Ravens quarterback Trent Dilfer rode the coattails of Ray Lewis and Jamal Lewis toward a Super Bowl title, and it's been 15 since Brad Johnson played second fiddle to the Tampa 2 scheme that won coach Jon Gruden his first and only Super Bowl title.

"It sure can, heck yeah", Pederson said. He's smart to the point of he and I are going to continue to dialogue like Carson and I did during the week. You know, yeah, he is the quarterback of our football team, and each one of these guys that I mentioned is tough to replace. This is a veteran player we're talking about.

The Philadelphia Eagles lost Carson Wentz to a season-ending knee injury and could be in need of quarterback depth.

"Nate's done a really good job", Pederson said. We have been plagued with injuries all year long.

"He did", Smith said, "what we expected him to do".
