The updates will show in the Google Maps app and potentially on the Android lockscreen. Not only do you get the exact route that is relevant to you and gets you there the fastest, but you also get the time that you'll need to reach there, considering the mode of transport you have. Apparently the app will soon guide you through every step of a mass transit ride, including telling you when it's time to get off. Some may have received the update already so others will definitely follow. Rolling out in the next few weeks and months, Google Maps will soon be able to give you live updates when you're in transit.

Search engine Google, which has a range of significant apps like Google Maps and Google Play Music, is ready to update its Google Maps service with new features. An unconfirmed information said that the updates will also be displayed on Android lock screen, Tech Crunch reported.

The report said that users will be reminded to get off a bus or a train when he or she gets close to a stop- a useful feature when one is travelling somewhere new. These features will be particularly useful when traveling to a new location or when you are on a long journey and can fall asleep.

But thanks to Google Maps stressful bus journeys and looking out of the window with a panicked expression feeling like you've missed your stop will be a thing of the past.

After searching for transit directions in Google Maps, users will be able to press a "start" button at the bottom the screen that will offer more details about the journey.
