With Qualcomm's Snapdragon 835 at their heart, the new ultraportables may look like their Intel and AMD counterparts at first glance, but there are some very good reasons inside why you might want one of these ARM-based models instead. The NovaGo is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC. The device comes pre-loaded with Windows 10 S. They all support standard Windows 10 features, such as a touchscreen, Windows Hello, and pen input.
It wasn't just ASUS turning up to the Snapdragon 835-powered Windows 10 laptop party, but HP too with their new Envy x2 laptop. Additionally, these type of PCs can run either Windows 10 or Windows 10 S: the first models from Asus and HP will actually run the more secure Windows 10 S out of the box, but customers will be able to upgrade to Windows 10 Pro for free for a limited time.
As a result, first impressions from the new devices aren't hugely different from any other Windows 10 device.
While you'll obviously have WiFi too, our expectation is that you're probably going to struggle to buy a NovaGo or ENVY x2 without activating a data connection at the same time.
On the specs front, the Envy X2 is definitely the more premium-looking of the two models, and has a 12.3-inch 1920 x 1280 pixel display with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.Читайте также: Jimbo Fisher accepts head coach position at Texas A&M
If you want a bit more grunt and storage space, you can bump up the budget to $799 USA for the 8GB model of Asus NovaGo, complete with 256GB of storage. The NovaGo's screen can't be detached, but it does rotate 360 degrees for tablet mode. Qualcomm boasts battery life of up to 25 hours, plus instant power on and performance that is on par with an Intel computer.
The NovaGo will have a 4X4 MIMO antenna array for high-speed, Gigabit-class 4G connectivity and will have up to 256GB of UFS 2.0 storage and 8GB of RAM.
The Windows on ARM PCs are part of a broader Always Connected PC initiative, but those cellular machines don't need to have an ARM processor. That's the same setup found in many Android phones released in 2017, including Samsung's Galaxy S8 and Google's Pixel 2.
HP promises an "impossibly thin" but "incredibly durable" deisgn that packs up to 20 hours of battery life and is powered by the same Snapdragon 835 processor and Snapdragon X16 LTE modem for that always-connected goodness.При любом использовании материалов сайта и дочерних проектов, гиперссылка на обязательна.
