The security forces on Thursday killed four terrorists in two separate encounters in Budgam and Sopore districts of Jammu and Kashmir.
One of the encounters broke out after security forces launched a cordon and search operation at Futlipora in Pakherpora area, 45 km from Srinagar, following information about presence of terrorists in the area, an army official said.
The report also quotes an official as informing that as the forces approached the suspected house, the militants opened fire, triggering a gunfight.
A fifth militant was shot dead by the security forces in Sagipora woods outside north-western town of Sopore in Baramulla district.
Reports said the clashes spread from Pakherpora to nearby Dalwan area.
Sinar Ahmad, 15, was injured when the army resorted to aerial firing after the mob attack.

For the first time in seven years, the number of militants killed in counter-insurgency operations in Jammu and Kashmir has crossed 200, according to the state police.
Reports said a Tata Mobile allegedly used to ferry force personnel towards the encounter site was set ablaze by the protesters.
"Today by the collective effort of J&K police, Indian Army, CAPF and people of Kashmir have lead to neutralization of more than 200 terrorists in the year of 2017 alone".
In a separate ongoing encounter, a militant was killed and a paratrooper injured in Sagipora village of Sopore in north Kashmir.
The spokesman said 3 AK rifles, 3 AK magazines, 111 AK rounds and other ammunition was recovered from the encounter site.
"The three slain militants belonged to Jaish, which was active in the area from last over two months", Singh said.
