"The Congress has agreed to provide reservation to the Patidar community", Patel told reporters in Ahmedabad.

"A few days ago, in a Rajasthan case, the Supreme Court said you may make whatever law you want to make but you can not breach the 50 per cent limit (for quotas)".

Cautioning Hardik the BJP leader said that he should stop misguiding people.

Patel said that he will continue to extend his support for the Congress and added that the party has also offered an acceptable solution for how to include Patels as beneficiaries of affirmative action policies in employment and education.

Patidar leader Harik Patel's statement that congress has accepted their demand for reservation has evoked sharp criticism from BJP.

However, reacting to the development, Nitin Patel said, "A fool made a request and another fool accepted it, and they say others are fool (Moorkh nedarkhwast di aurmoorkhnedarkhwastmaani, aurdoosre ko moorkhboltehain)".

"The BJP is shamelessly indulging in alleged acts of bribery, horse trading, misuse of money and muscle power, coercion and threats", said Congress spokesperson Abhishek Manu Singhvi.

"In our Constitution, there is no mention of 50 per cent cap on reservation".

Meanwhile, clearing the air about ticket distribution, Hardik, "I never asked for any ticket from the Congress party to contest the assembly polls and there is "no conflict within the PAAS".

The Vijay Rupani-led government has challenged it before Supreme Court, where the matter is pending.

On November 20, the PAAS workers protested against Congress Party in Ahmedabad and Surat, expressing dismay over the ticket distribution for the assembly polls. "Because we are in a position, we have to maintain dignity", Patel said. However, heads of both these bodies denied having received any details about the Congress formula.
