Mark Wahlberg and Michelle Williams also star in the movie, and are expected to be involved with the reshoots.

Movie cast agreed to re-shoot all scenes involving Spacey, who played the part of a reclusive, aging oil tycoon and donned heavy makeup and prosthetics and replacing him with actor Christopher Plummer. The actor, who is facing serious accusations of sexual misconduct, has a notable role in the film, and his involvement has already seen Sony tone down its Oscar promotion for the movie.

The filmmaker made the decision unilaterally and only notified Sony of his decision late Wednesday afternoon, according to sources familiar with the situation, adding that Plummer was originally the first choice for the role, but top studio executives wanted a bigger name. And while Spacey only worked on the film for about two weeks so Plummer's scenes aren't extensive, the team now has a little over a month to shoot and edit this all seamlessly into the finished film, as All the Money in the World is slated for release on December 22nd.

Kevin Spacey faces fresh allegations of inappropriate behavior. All the Money in the World chronicles the true life saga of the kidnapping of John Paul Getty III (Charlie Plummer) and his mother's desperate attempt to convince his insanely wealthy grandfather (Spacey/Plummer) to pay the ransom.

The decision to remove Spacey from the film came a day after Heather Unruh, a former TV news anchor, accused Spacey of assaulted her son on Nantucket in July 2016.

Spacey, 58, did not immediately respond to the allegations.

Actor Anthony Rapp and Harry Dreyfuss (the son of Richard Dreyfuss) have also said the actor assaulted them, and London police said they were investigating a 2008 sexual assault reportedly linked to Spacey. "I honestly do not remember the encounter, it would have been over 30 years ago", Spacey said in his statement.

Yesterday an American journalist claimed that Spacey plied her teenage son with alcohol before grabbing his genitals.
