Sen. Rand Paul assaulted at Kentucky home

In a statement, Paul spokeswoman Kelsey Cooper said the Republican senator was "fine". CBS News notes it's unclear what connection, if any, there is between Paul and Boucher and whether the assault happened inside or outside Paul's home.

"KSP Troopers responded to the residence of Rand Paul in Warren County, in reference to a report of an assault".

According to the Bowling Green Daily News, Paul suffered minor injury following the assault, but circumstances surrounding the incident and his injuries are now unknown. He is charged with fourth-degree assault with a minor injury.

Boucher, 59, was arrested and taken to the Warren County Regional Jail.

The referee apparently saw the incident and red carded Evra before the game even started. At 36 years old, with his play declining, this incident might be career-ending for Evra.

His bond is recorded at $5,000 and a court date has not been set.

Officials for Sen. Paul's office say that the former presidential candidate did not suffer any major injuries. Rand Paul of Kentucky, authorities said Saturday.

Kentucky State Police Master Trooper Jeremy Hodges said he could not release details of the assault because of security issues.

However, Boucher is an anesthesiologist and pain specialist in Bowling Green, who developed a product called Therm-a-Vest.
