Uber Bans Bigot Laura Loomer Over Islamophobic Tweets About Drivers

After reports began circulating on social media that the companies had barred Loomer, 24, from using their services, the outspoken commentator took to Twitter to lament the decision.

Ride-share titans Uber and Lyft banned a driver after she unleashed an anti-Muslim tirade on Twitter, questioning why the companies hired Muslim drivers following Tuesday's deadly attack whose suspect was an Uber driver.

Laura Loomer is going to have to find another way to get around.

Following the attack, Loomer complained she was late to a press conference because she could not find a non-Muslim Uber driver. Conservative activist Laura Loomer was banned by cab-hailing services Uber and Lyft on Wednesday after she made anti-Muslim comments on Twitter. The ride-sharing app has banned other far-right activists in the past.

Loomer's tweets came a day after Sayfullo Saipov, an Uzbek immigrant who drove for both Uber and Lyft, rented a Home Depot truck and plowed into a bike path along the West Side highway, killing eight people and at least a dozen others. It noted that riders could also potentially be banned from Uber for making "comments or gestures that are aggressive, sexual, discriminatory or disrespectful".

Aimlessly walking around in hijabs, ' Loomer stated in a separate message. "I stand by what I said".

Uber banned her from the app soon after for violating its community guidelines, according to Business Insider.

In June, Loomer disrupted a performance of Shakespeare's "Julius Caesar" because the character of the assassinated Roman dictator was costumed to resemble US President Donald Trump.

Loomer, who is Jewish, also said that "Islam is cancer" and urged the USA government to "never let another Muslim into the civilized world".
