The cable news organization put up a series of screens titled "Facts First", which displayed different bullet points containing information as Sanders answered questions about whether special counsel Robert Mueller's Russian Federation probe was affecting President Trump's ability to get his job done.
Earlier Monday, Trump's former campaign chairman Paul Manafort and Manafort's business associate turned themselves in to federal authorities after the pair was charged with 12 counts related to money laundering and other alleged crimes.
"This individual was a member of a volunteer council that met one time", she said of Papadopolous, adding nothing in today's indictments is "evidence of Trump-Russia collusion".
"It has to do with his failure to tell the truth".
However, Papadopoulos was not taken up on his offer, and no meeting between Trump and Putin occurred during the campaign.
"Which I think that shows, one, his level of importance in the campaign and two, what little role he had within coordinating anything officially for the campaign", she said, repeating her attempts to minimize Papadopoulos' role in the President's campaign, which she said was "extremely limited".
"Today's announcement has nothing to do with the president, has nothing to do with the president's campaign or campaign activity", she said.

Papadopoulos was one of five people announced to be part of Trump's foreign policy team in March of past year.
Sanders said that the White House isn't expecting such differences of vision to delay the tax package, which Congress will begin considering in earnest this week.
A White House reporter asked Sanders if her previous comments, where she expressed her belief that the investigation will be wrapped up "soon", were "wishful thinking" or "spin".
