A team official told ESPN that while Delta flight 8935 was a little rocky, it was nothing out of the ordinary.

That may change after what the Oklahoma City Thunder experienced early Saturday morning. He tweeted at NASA, astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson and scientist Bill Nye seeking answers about what could have the damage.

While the impact caused a large dent in the nose of the plane, no one was hurt.

Elizabeth Wolf, a spokeswoman for Delta, said she believes the plane hit a bird as the plane descended into Chicago about 12:45 a.m.

In a statement to the Oklahoman, Delta Airlines moved to quash speculation by saying the plane likely came in contact with "a bird".

The Thunder lost to the Timberwolves in Minneapolis on Friday night and will play the Bulls in Chicago on Saturday.

A plane carrying an NBA Team was damaged while mid-air last night. The aircraft, a Boeing 757-200, landed safely without incident; customers have since deplaned and maintenance is evaluating. That's what Oklahoma City Thunder players went through as they exited the plane after flying to Chicago. "Safety is Delta's top priority".

Anthony wrote on Instagram, "What possibly could we have hit in the SKY at this time of night?"

Patrick Patterson said the Thunder hit Superman.
