We can not say we are totally surprised, as Samsung is the only leading Android OEM that is yet to say anything regarding the Oreo update.

Some of these devices include HMD Global's Nokia 8, Nokia 6, Nokia 5 and Nokia 3, HTC's U11, U10, and U Ultra, as well as the Moto G5, G5S, G5S Plus, G4 Plus, X4, Z, Z Play and Z Force. The last year's debacle did hit the brand image of Samsung but the company took every possible action to mend the dent.

As for the Oreo Beta Programme in the US, Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ owners on either T-Mobile or Sprint will reportedly be able to sign up for the beta through the Samsung Members and Samsung+ apps.

It's important to note that this information doesn't come from Samsung itself. The eligible mid-range Galaxy smartphones will probably receive the update only in Q2 or Q3 next year.

The Samsung Galaxy S7 Android Nougat beta launched in November (November 9th) and stretched into late December ahead of the widespread release in early 2017.

The company's previous beta was restricted to users in U.S., U.K., Korea, and China and the company's Galaxy S7 Edge Olympic Games Limited Edition and Galaxy S7 Edge Injustice Edition were excluded from the program.

There are also chances that Samsung Galaxy S7 will get the Oreo update alongside the S8 and Note 8. Popular devices like the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy Note 5 weren't included in the program. Google's Android 8.0 Oreo was unveiled on August 21, and Nexus as well as Pixel devices were among the first to get the update.

The new smartphones, Samsung Galaxy S9 and Samsung Galaxy 9 Plus, have been one of the most exciting flagships of 2017.
