The body of a missing teacher was found Tuesday, miles away from her Portage home after police found her husband dead in their home with instructions on where to find his wife's body.

Allegan County Undersheriff Michael Larsen said earlier Wednesday that the body was found partially buried near Swan Creek Marsh in Valley Township, west of Allegan. A hand-drawn map pointed police to the location of her body. Police confirmed during a Wednesday news conference that he hanged himself.

Christopher was meant to report to the Corrections Division of the Portage County Sheriff's Office at 10 a.m. Tuesday due to his arrest in July from driving under the influence, according to NBC News.

The body of Theresea Lockhart, a MI woman who had been missing since May, was found and identified on Tuesday.

Theresa Lockhart vanished on May 18.

A man who committed suicide left behind a note admitting to killing his wife, who disappeared five months ago, police said.

On Tuesday, Christopher Lockhart was found dead at his home in the 10000 block of Poplar Bluff in Portage, authorities said. She had been missing for 154 days, said Armold. "It was in that location that officers were able to find a body in a shallow grave that has only been recently identified as Theresa Lockhart".

Theresa Lockhart's college friend spoke to her on the day she went missing and said that the couple was working through some issues. In addition to teaching Spanish full time, she taught a leadership class, contributed to afterschool activities, and was an adviser for the school's National Honor's Society. "Chris did one good deed before he died and that was to tell us where we could find Theresa", wrote Theresa's sister, Joan, on Facebook.
