Quetta Police chief Abdur Razak Cheema said auto was detonated by bomb, security forces of vehicle, four policemen on vehicle, and two people who passed road during explosion of vehicle lost ir lives.
According to eyewitnesses, a white auto parked on the roadside exploded as a truck carrying around 30 Rapid Response Force (RRF) personnel passed by.
QUETTA: Balochistan Home Minister Sarfraz Bugti has said that the nature of the explosion is being determined and preliminary probe suggests that the explosion was suicide.
Rescue teams transferred the injured to the nearby Civil Hospital and Combined Military Hospital (CMH) where an emergency was declared.
The Pakistani Taliban, an umbrella organisation of various militant groups within Pakistan, and loosely allied to the Afghan Taliban, issued a statement claiming responsibility.
At least 12, including 9 policemen, were also injured in the attack which police sources say was a suicide explosion.
Speaking to media on Wednesday, Bugti stated that Pakistan is on the front line of terrorism and the country will fight the war till the last terrorist reaches its end. The blast which was carried out remotely occurred near Kajhori check post when the security forces were patrolling the area, a security official said, adding the IED had been planted along Miran Shah road.

During the day, the Sensex touched a record high of 32,687.32 points, while the Nifty 50 touched its lifetime high of 10,242.95. Sectoral indices turned green across the board, with metal, realty and FMCG posting sizeable gains of up to 1.90 per cent.
The injured have been shifted to Jinnah Hospital.
Earlier in June, 14 people - including seven policemen - lost their lives in a suicide blast that shook Shuhada Chowk in Quetta's Gulistan Road area.
The Pakistani Taliban said the attack was a "suicide mission". After the blast, security forces cordoned off the area and started a search operation.
"Strongly condemn terror attack in Quetta causing loss of precious lives".
Bugti reiterated that territory of Afghanistan is being used for attacks in Pakistan.
"These cowardly attacks will not hinder our security forces in executing their duties", he added.
